Girl talk!!! As the years go by I find it harder to find time to get together with old and new friends. This is my way to schedule time to keep up with what's going on with everyone. The brunches will be fun and casual. Yes, Arnessa can do casual. (Smile)

 Gospel Brunch At Sylvia's in Harlem, New York

While in New York, I attended a  wonderful gospel brunch with some old friends from Arkansas, that are sisters. Jamillaah  Carmichael and Fatimaah Carmichael, (soon to be Dr. Fatimaah Carmichael) that now reside in Manhatten,  New York. The music and soul food was great. We also celebrated Jamillaah's birthday. We also had an opportunity to talk to Sylvia Wood while we were there.

“I bought a little luncheonette back in 1962 and today we own a whole block of Harlem. I’m very grateful that I stuck with it. You just keep moving, trying to make things better. These days, I try to help others get where they want to go with scholarships. I’ve got 38 on my list now. I tell every one of them, “Whatever you do, give it all you got.” Sylvia Woods supports her community of Harlem in New York City with student scholarships. Recently, Sylvia expanded her Dream in Color story with the development of a line of canned foods, mixes and spices that will be carried in select Target stores.
